Exporting Products

Exporting Products

In short

The Export Products wizard lets you export products from the Hive to a downloadable file in three steps. Filter the products you want, map their fields to your export columns, then choose your file format and run the export.

Before you start

At the end of the wizard, after it has run, it creates and saves a Flow for you. You DO NOT need to run the export wizard every time. It is a quick start method to creating a Flow.

Exporting products

  1. From the left-hand menu, click Products to expand the section.
  2. Click My Products.
  3. Click Export on the top menu bar. The Export Products wizard opens at a summary of the export process — How to Export. Read the overview and click Next to proceed to step two — Select the Products to Export.
  4. Use the filter builder to select which products to include. Click Add Filter to add a condition, select a field from the first dropdown, choose a condition such as contains or equals, and enter a value. Click Apply Filter to see matching results. Click Clear Filter to reset.
  5. Use the Include My Products and Include Supplier Products checkboxes to control which product sets are included in the filter scope.
  6. Review the product list below the filter to confirm the right records are selected. The list shows a live count — for example, “Showing 50 of 100 products found for this filter.”
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Map the Fields to Export step, select a Source Product Template from the dropdown.
  9. Review the mapping grid. Source shows your template fields, How to Map defaults to Pass Through Value, and Target is the column name that will appear in the exported file.
  10. Click Suggest Mappings to auto-populate matches by field name, or click New Mapping to add a row manually.
  11. To set a value manually or combine fields, change How to Map to Calculate Value and configure the transformation. See the article on using Calculate Value for details.
  12. Click Next.
  13. On the Export the Products step, review the auto-generated Name for this Flow — it defaults to Export Products (date time). Edit it if you want something more descriptive.
  14. Choose your export file format using the toggles. Export to Excel is on by default. You can also enable Export to CSV or Export to JSON — enable as many as you need.
  15. Click Done. The wizard creates and immediately executes the Flow.

Downloading the exported file

Once the export runs, click the download link above the flow execution detail to download your file.

If you need to download the file again, go to Flows > History, click the relevant run entry, and find the download link in the execution detail.

The wizard also saves the Flow to Flows > My Flows so you can re-run the same export at any time without going through the wizard again.
